The research activities carried out within the TRACE project were presented at the 5th International Workshop on Denudation and Climate Change (DENUCHANGE), held in Naxos, Greece, from 6–9 October 2026. The international scientific event focused on environmental change, landscape evolution, and the impacts of climate change on natural systems.
Hosted at the Laguna Coast Foundation Centre, the workshop brought together researchers and experts from different disciplines. The scientific program included presentations, debates, and discussions addressing the dynamics and vulnerability of coastal environments under the influence of global climate change, as well as recent developments in geomorphology, coastal dynamics, and environmental monitoring.
The program also included two days of field-based activities and practical training sessions. Participants had the opportunity to apply methodologies discussed during the scientific sessions and explore innovative geospatial data collection techniques at several geomorphologically significant sites across Naxos Island.
The TRACE project was represented through the presentation of results obtained during recent field campaigns, highlighting the project’s contribution to the study of climate change impacts on terrestrial and coastal environments. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to disseminate these findings, receive feedback from the international scientific community, and discuss emerging challenges and future research directions.

Participation in DENUCHANGE also contributed to strengthening academic cooperation and expanding international research networks. Discussions with researchers and institutional representatives opened opportunities for future collaboration and interdisciplinary research, while reinforcing existing connections within the Erasmus network.
Overall, the event increased the international visibility of the TRACE project and supported knowledge exchange with specialists working on climate change, geomorphological processes, and environmental resilience.
