TRACE Kick-Off Meeting

On November 16, 2023, the University of Bucharest hosted the opening conference of the TRACE – Tracing Climate Change project, a new initiative under the Erasmus+ programme. This virtual Kick-Off Meeting marked the first official gathering of project partners, setting the stage for a collaborative journey aimed at deepening our understanding of climate change impacts.

Funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Programme, the TRACE project brings together expertise from the University of Bucharest and two esteemed partners from the CIVIS network: Aix Marseille University in France and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. Additionally, the Hellenic Society of STEM Education in Greece is contributing its resources and knowledge to this significant endeavor.

Spanning three years, from November 1, 2023, to October 31, 2026, TRACE aims to enhance students’ comprehension of climate change effects on various geomorphological environments. By integrating advanced Earth Sciences studies into the project, students will gain invaluable insights into how climate change reshapes our world.

During the Kick-Off Meeting, the project management team outlined the initial tasks and work plans for the project’s first phase. Discussions also covered new reporting protocols, including the principles of the lump-sum grant, ensuring a clear and structured approach to project execution.

The TRACE project promises to be a landmark initiative in climate change education and research, fostering international collaboration and providing students with the tools to analyze and address one of the most pressing challenges of our time.
