Răzvan-Andrei Popescu, PhD is a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Geography, Department of Geomorphology, Pedology, and Geomatics. He specializes in mountain geomorphology, examining the impacts of climate change on mountain landforms, and conducting glacial and periglacial reconstructions using geomorphologic proxies.
His research primarily focuses on mountain permafrost in the Carpathian region, the phenomenon of low-altitude permafrost, paleoclimate reconstructions, and current morphoclimatic changes in mountain areas. He serves on the board of the Romanian Association of Geomorphology and is a member of the European Geoscience Union and the Permafrost Young Researchers Network.
Since 2021, he has been organizing the Scientific Student Circle of Geomorphology at his faculty.
