Currently a senior lecturer at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Geography, Department of Geomorphology, Pedology and Geomatics, Mihaela Verga is specialized in environmental sciences, applied geography, environmental geomorphology, land deterioration, natural hazards and risks. Her applied research has been focused on landscape dynamics in the Carpathian region, slope movements, landslides impact on road infrastructure, vulnerability analysis of different cultural heritage sites.
Mihaela has organized and participated in several training schools in geomorphology, educational programs on environmental challenges, training programs for secondary school teachers based on results of multiple international assessments.
She has organized and participated in more than 20 national and international conferences.
